Why We Started Jenan

Entrepreneurship is a path filled with challenges, and for many in underserved and marginalized communities, those challenges can feel insurmountable. Yet time and time again, we've witnessed individuals persevere, create, and thrive despite limited resources and systemic obstacles. It is this spirit of resilience and innovation that inspired the creation of Jenan.

We have seen firsthand how aspiring entrepreneurs, brimming with potential, struggle to move forward, not because they lack ideas or drive, but because they are held back by barriers such as limited access to capital, complex and outdated systems, or simply not knowing where to begin. Too often, brilliant concepts never make it past the dream stage due to the absence of support, infrastructure, or mentorship.

We've observed women striving to balance family responsibilities, professional aspirations, and personal ambition, all while lacking the networks or tools to realize their visions. We understand the frustration of having a goal, yet being slowed down by inefficient systems, technological limitations, or the lack of connections typically required to break through.

Despite these challenges, remarkable businesses continue to emerge, sometimes from kitchen tables, mobile phones, or modest market stalls. This tenacity and drive reflect a deep entrepreneurial spirit that deserves recognition, nurturing, and a platform from which to grow.
